Shettihalli Rosary Church – Hassan
Shettihalli Rosary Church is one of the most distinctive historical attractions in Hassan district, Karnataka. Located near the backwaters of the Hemavati Reservoir, the church is famous for its beautiful Gothic architecture and its unusual history of being partially submerged by water during periods of high reservoir levels.
The church was constructed in the 1860s by French missionaries and served the Christian community and British estate owners in the region. Built in the Gothic style, it features impressive arches, tall walls, and elegant architectural details that remain visible despite decades of exposure to water and weather.
