A teenage girl was found dead at her residence in Ambika Nagar, Channarayapatna, Hassan district, on August 22, 2026. The girl, identified in reports as Rakshitha, was found hanging from the ceiling. Her family members have alleged that a youth had been harassing her and suspected foul play. A complaint was lodged with the Channarayapatna police, and the body was sent to Hassan District Government Hospital for post-mortem examination. Police said further investigation was underway.
